Participation Information

Students must be currently enrolled in a Japanese course in Arizona. Native/heritage learners are not eligible to participate.

Students are selected by their schools before applying for a category.

Application Timeline

• Category application deadline: February 27, 2026

• Final speech draft due: March 13, 2026

A detailed application form for student participants will be released in February to participating schools.

Speech Categories

• Category A – 自己紹介 (Self-Introduction)

• Category B – 私の好きな食べ物 (My Favorite Food)

• Category C – 日本の食べ物と私の家族(国)の食べ物の比較

• Category D – 未来の食文化

 

Categories vary by course level. Some categories require participants to answer questions in Japanese about their speech*
